Where does your escape fit in
On a scale of fun to sin
Is your pleasure cheap and legal
Socially accepted evil
Or perhaps you spell relief
By smoking some forbidden leaf
If your tastes run to extremes
Requiring clever sneaky schemes
Danger enters with it shame
Now you play a costly game
However if your pastime rates
Approval in all 50 states
Entertainment can be taxed
And cautious ways may be relaxed
Somehow the sense of it escapes me
What practices we preach
One transgressing legally
Another found in breach
Who among us is to say
What was meant as one right way
Only you can see the signs
We all exist between the lines
